Crowns are one of the most common and effective ways to repair damaged or weakened teeth. This type of restoration fully covers a tooth, protecting it and improving its appearance. Crowns can be made from many different materials including: Gold, base metal, porcelain or ceramic, or a combination of these. Here at Trovato Family Laser Dentistry, we have been exclusively placing all ceramic crowns and bridges since 2017. While other materials can make a suitable restoration, today’s ceramics are unsurpassed for their lifelike qualities and strength. Dental bridges “bridge the gap” left by missing teeth. Bridges are a non-removable alternative to replace your missing teeth and prevent shifting, collapse of your bite, further tooth loss, TMJ problems, and the early onset of lines and wrinkles in the lower part of your face. Bridges can be placed utilizing your own teeth, or they can be placed over the top of implants as well. As with crowns, bridges are made from a variety of materials, but we prefer to use only ceramic bridges.
